Jack Turner Does The Double

UTSA’s Jack Turner won gold in the decathlon with 7659 points. Turner took first in five of 10 events overall, including one Friday. He was first in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.43 seconds, second in the discus with a 40.86-meter effort (134’1”) behind Rice’s Corbett Fong, who had a 42.64-meter (139’11”) throw, second in the javelin at 54.61 meters (179’2) behind Fong’s 58.76 meters, third in the pole vault and third in the final event, the 1500m.
The gold medal for Turner gave him the 2021 indoor-outdoor multi-event double as he was also the C-USA indoor heptathlon champion.
